My First Post

Do you love the fall season? I absolutely love everything about it, including the weather, the fall cooking and baking, the smells, the clothes, and the colors. Now that I have a son I get to do the fun fall activities that I never had a chance to do as an adult, mostly because a single adult woman climbing onto the hayride to go pick out a pumpkin will get a lot of stares from parents.
I have a long to do list of fall activities which I want to accomplish this season with Brendan. I can proudly check one item off the list- A fall craft project.
Finding craft projects for a two year old can be difficult, but I found this great one at the Nick Jr. website.

Moose and Zee's Lace Apple Pouches
The great thing about this craft is you more than likely have all the supplies you need already.
Here's a rundown of how it went this afternoon. During his nap I went ahead and cut out the apple shapes out of cardstock. Brendan put glue on the two pieces for me then I stuck them together and punched the holes. I chose a ribbon that was round instead of flat for him to use that way it was easier for his little hands to guide it through the punched holes. The most difficult part for him was knowing which hole to stick the ribbon through and in which direction. After awhile the boy in him took over and he starting hissing "sssssnake" and slithering the ribbon on the table. So I turned it into a "which hole does the snake go in next?" game and he was able to finish up. Lastly I let him stick some stickers on the apple. I didn't think the craft project was that big of a hit until Brendan's dad came home and he proudly showed daddy saying "I made dat, I made dat." So I give it an A.
